Samantha Hunter, MA

Clinical Mental Health Counselor | Trauma-Informed | Anxiety & Life Transitions Specialist

Sammie specializes in supporting adolescents, young adults, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and life transitions. She has a particular interest in working with individuals experiencing pregnancy and postpartum changes, self-esteem challenges, academic or career pressure, relationship stress, grief and loss, and identity exploration.

She understands that life’s changes—whether expected or unexpected—can feel overwhelming. Sammie creates a warm, compassionate, and judgment-free space where clients can slow down, feel supported, and begin to reconnect with themselves. She works alongside her clients to build resilience, increase self-awareness, and move through challenges with greater clarity and self-compassion.

Sammie takes a trauma-informed, strengths-based approach to therapy. She recognizes how past experiences shape emotional patterns, coping styles, and relationships, and she helps clients process these experiences at a pace that feels safe and manageable. With a gentle and grounded presence, she supports clients in rebuilding a sense of inner safety and developing healthier ways to move forward.

Her therapeutic style is collaborative, supportive, and tailored to each individual. Sammie integrates evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, mindfulness-based techniques, and existential therapy to help clients build insight, strengthen coping skills, and create meaningful, lasting change.

Whether a client is navigating a difficult transition, healing from past experiences, or seeking a deeper understanding of themselves, Sammie provides a steady and empathetic presence throughout the process.

Sammie is currently working toward licensure as a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and practices under the supervision of Valerie McIntyre, LPC, ADHD-CCSP, CCATP. Clients can feel confident knowing they are receiving thoughtful, high-quality care within a supportive and professional environment.
